Conversations About Suicide (Mental Health First Aid)
who is it for?
Any adult interested in supporting others.
Please note that this is not a postvention course and is not recommended for individuals recently bereaved by suicide. It is not a therapy or a support group and it is important that people undertaking the course are feeling resilient when they undertake it. Postvention support services can be found at the beyondblue website.
What will I learn?
This is a Mental Health First Aid course about how to assist someone who is experiencing thoughts of suicide. You will learn how to identify, approach and support someone who is experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviours using a practical, evidence based Action Plan. You will also have the opportunity to practise your new skills in a safe environment.

How to confidently support a person in crisis
How to help the person stay safe
How to connect someone to appropriate professional help
What is the format?
This course is delivered as a 4 hour instructor-led workshop.
